This weekend, in Czech Republic, we are happy to see two French people competing in a MotoGP Grand Prix. Suzuki test rider and former Superbike World Champion with Aprilia Sylvain Guintoli is in fact aligned with the GSX-RR. He qualified 21rd but in pain. Literally. And here’s why…
The compatriot of Johann zarco had suffered martyrdom on Friday on his Suzuki and he went to have an x-ray this Saturday to take stock of the situation. The verdict was clear: he drove with two broken ribs! A memory of the fall suffered last week during the 08:00 of Suzuka, which he finished tenth on the Suzuki Yoshimura… “ Now I know why I hurt » commented the tricolor which specifies: “ I strongly advise against riding a MotoGP with two broken ribs! ».
Despite this, Guinto intends to continue his meeting: “ the pain tends to get worse but I'll deal with it. It's not ideal, but it'll do. We are testing new parts and we will continue to do so during the tests that follow on Monday. It's all good. We tried painkillers for qualifying which were quite effective. I still have pain nonetheless, but for it to pass, there is only rest and time. So I will take care of that after Monday ».
Suzuki should still field its favorite and courageous test rider at least once this season in the Grand Prix.
