The Pramac driver had a solid weekend and can now focus on the next Grand Prix.

Danilo Petrucci entered the summer break with an excellent fourth place, and therefore also hoped to achieve a good result for the resumption of the season. Despite a rather quiet start to the weekend with fifteenth place in FP1, he succeeded in his Grand Prix.

Indeed, he then took second place in FP2 then in FP3, which allowed him to automatically qualify for Q2. He then encountered more problems during FP4, but managed to finish eighth despite everything and achieve a good qualification in sixth position. Yesterday, he hoped to be able to fight in the top five in the race, even if he was a little apprehensive of the consequences of the heat.

He had a good Warm Up this morning, taking sixth position, which boded well for the race. Following a good start, he managed to maintain his place, and overtake Cal Crutchlow for fifth position on the third lap. He also tried to get back on Valentino Rossi without success, and was finally caught and overtaken by Crutchlow.

Petrucci therefore finished his race in the same place as he started it, that is to say sixth, and remained seventh in the Championship: “I had a good race. I'm happy with this weekend. I could perhaps have taken a few more points but I am leaving for Austria very satisfied. I am very happy for Ducati and think I have made my contribution. »
