If Álvaro Bautista replaced Jorge Lorenzo at Phillip Island, and in a very good way by debuting on the GP18, the only thing that is certain today is that Ducati will not call on him at Sepang.

The pilot of the Angel Nieto team will therefore find the handlebars of his GP17 and, as a result, Karel Abraham that of his GP16…

Injustice? Perhaps, but the Spanish driver only owed this southern favor to the test program planned for a long time by Borgo Panigale, in Valencia in the second part of last week, to test the prototype of the GP2 in the hands of Michele Pirro. A program that could not be more important intended to finalize the motorcycles that Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo will discover on Tuesday November 20 and Wednesday November 21 on the Valencian track.

In accordance with his status as official test driver, it is the latter who will fly to Kuala Lumpur and participate in the Malaysian Grand Prix, in case Jorge Lorenzo forfeits again.

The Majorcan driver will be present at Sepang. He has already taken the plane and will try again to make his comeback, as he did, in vain, after FP1 in Japan.

Let's hope for him that this time he can participate in the Grand Prix, despite a circuit also including strong braking that risks being demanding on Por Fuera's right wrist.

But otherwise, Michele Pirro will be ready, as he himself declares!
