This weekend in Sepang will take place a Malaysian Grand Prix which will also be the penultimate race of the season. The fight for second place in the Drivers' Championship is still open. Valentino Rossi will he finish runner-up to Marc Marquez or Andrea Dovizioso will he finish his current campaign in the same rank as the previous one? To have some answers, we will have to keep watch again or wake up again at dawn….

The MotoGP stars will meet at the hot Sepang international circuit, located an hour from the gates of the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. The track is 5,543 kilometers long with 15 turns. It was designed by Hermann Tilke and officially opened on March 7, 1999.

The first Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix took place on April 20, 1999. The site is also unfortunately known because of the fatal accident of Marco Simoncelli in 2011. The Italian crashed on the second lap and was then hit by the Yamaha riders Colin Edwards et Valentino Rossi. A short time later, he succumbed to his serious injuries.

Last year, at Sepang, after just under 45 minutes of racing, we witnessed a double victory for Ducati with Andrea Dovizioso et Jorge Lorenzo. The third was Johann zarco ahead of the two Honda factory riders and Dani Pedrosa.

But the big star of this meeting will be the local hero Hafiz Syahrin from which we will expect a lot... Especially since he has his ranking of beginners of the year to conquer!
