The Spanish driver once again had an excellent race despite complicated tests, and thus continues to show his potential.

Alvaro Bautista did not have the chance to benefit from tests on the Misano track like the official teams a few weeks ago. He therefore knew that he was arriving with a handicap by not having all the latest data in his hands.

Throughout the tests, this difference with the official drivers was felt. He thus finished twelfth in FP1, thirteenth in FP2 and eleventh in FP3, which did not allow him to progress directly to Q2. Author of the twentieth time in FP4, he then did not manage to qualify among the first two of Q1, as he wanted, and had to settle for fifteenth position.

Despite everything, the Spanish driver remains strong in the race on Sunday. After a very good Warm Up, he set off for the twenty-seven laps of the race, determined to come back. He succeeded and finished in ninth place, a very good result considering his complicated weekend: “Currently, being in the top ten in MotoGP is not easy because the level is very high, so making another top 10 is very positive. On this track, I don't know why, I found myself a little further from the fastest. Today I managed to improve the sensations of the last few days, and we entered the track with the soft tire at the front and rear, and it was, I believe, the right choice. I'm happy because we were close to the officials and I consider that, as Cal Crutchlow has factory equipment, I finished first independent driver. Regardless, the goal is to continue to progress in the next races. »
