Pedrosa and Morbidelli showed the qualities of a track ready for a qualifying final capable of shaking the official track record. It is the prerogative of a Lorenzo who achieved it in 2016 on a Yamaha and who is in great shape on his Ducati. Will he succeed himself? Vinales however showed during FP4 that this battle would not just be an affair between Ducati… So, for whom is the leading position in this San Marino Grand Prix?
Before answering this question, here is a reminder of the facts in table…

The last five minutes begin and Marquez fell heavily at turn 15. But he quickly got up and tried to return to his pit box as quickly as possible. In 1'31.916, Miller impresses with his GP17 and makes us forget his teammate, future official driver in red who is Petrucci. The latter is seventh.

Red goes fourth ahead Dovizioso. And 12 thousandths of Marquez ! But Crutchlow is nine thousandths closer and is therefore three thousandths better than the Doctor…
Dovizioso go third and push Marquez on the second line. Lorenzo beats his young record in 1'31.629. Crutchlow fall and will be sixth between Red et Marquez which remains in the top 5. Dovizioso is disappointed because fourth and therefore in the second row. Vinales, in fact will start third. Behind a very good Miller and an untouchable Lorenzo. zarco is ninth behind Petrucci. Pedrosa et Morbidely bring up the rear.
