The Suzuki rider arrived in Thailand on a positive weekend in Aragon, enough to motivate him for this new Grand Prix.

Andrea Iannone finally found the front in Aragon and got on the podium at the end of a very good race. In a positive dynamic after several complicated Grands Prix, he hoped to be able to continue his momentum in Thailand. Even if his results during the test carried out on the Buriram track in February were not very conclusive, he knows that his bike has progressed well since then and therefore did not want to rely on his times at the time.

It was a good thing for him since at the end of this first day, he finished sixth in the combined times, only a little more than a tenth from first. This morning, he was also at the front, occupying second place for most of the session, before finally finishing seventh.

A positive first day, but with things to improve despite everything according to the Italian driver: “We started the weekend well, but the temperatures are really high, which makes things very complicated. We still try to do our best. We struggled a bit this afternoon, and I crashed in turn 4. Luckily I'm okay. My feeling with the bike is not bad, but we need to improve a little on the electronics because the bike still moves a lot and slides. There is very little grip. In any case, we have a very clear idea of what we want to progress and we will try it tomorrow. Today, six or seven drivers were within a tenth, so qualifying promises to be difficult, even if today I used the medium tires for my fast lap and not the soft. »
