The Tech3 driver is preparing to complete his very last race with the team that welcomed him into the premier category before heading off to new challenges next year and hopes to be able to conclude this adventure with an excellent result.

As we begin the final Grand Prix of the season in Valencia, Johann zarco is sixth in the Championship, tied on points with Álex Rins, and five points ahead of Danilo Petrucci. He is also one point ahead of Cal Crutchlow but unfortunately he will not return to the track due to his injury. His main opponent for the title of best independent driver of the year therefore becomes Petrucci and he will do everything to finish in front of him.

With this tie on points with Rins, Zarco can also aim to finish in the final top 5 of the Championship and thus improve on his (already excellent) sixth place from last year. The Frenchman does not know if he will succeed because many things will come into play, notably the weather which promises to be uncertain.

However, he will be keen for this to happen so that he can say goodbye to Tech3 in the best possible way before starting his new adventure at KTM: “After the podium I achieved in Malaysia, I arrive in Valencia happy, with a smile and with the idea of achieving another excellent result. My main goal is to finish first independent driver and maybe even a little more. If I can finish the season in Valencia on the podium and thus finish ahead of Álex Rins and Danilo Petrucci, it would mean that I could also finish in the final top 5 of the Championship. That would be a great goal. But above all, I hope that the weather will be good and that it will not be cold in order to gain confidence on this circuit where I think the Yamaha can work well. My team and I found some good things during the overseas races, so we need to make the bike work again with the things we understood. In case this works out, I'm sure we can have a great weekend. I'm crossing my fingers to finish this 2018 season as well as possible. »
