The Pramac teammates were in great form throughout the first day, and the Australian risks being a serious contender on Sunday if the conditions do not change.

We know it, Jack Miller is as comfortable as a fish in water when it rains, and this was evident again today. From the first minutes of FP1, his name was placed at the top of the table, and he was in first position for a long time before being passed by Marc Márquez for only a tenth. The scenario could have been repeated in FP2 because he started strong, but the Australian preferred to keep his tires and therefore did not turn much. He finished in thirteenth position but finished second on this first day in combined times.

This start to the weekend is therefore very positive for Miller who hopes to repeat a top 10 or better in the race on Sunday in order to end this somewhat complicated season as best as possible. With ups and downs, he is only thirteenth in the Championship when his teammate is eighth and is fighting for the place of best independent driver this weekend.

Nevertheless, the excellent start to the year for number 43 suggests that he will have a very good 2019 season. In the meantime, he could finish just outside the top 10 overall, in eleventh place, if his race goes well. All the signals are green for the moment and he is really working in this direction: “My feelings are very positive. This morning we worked well and in the afternoon we preferred not to do too many laps so as not to wear out the soft rear tires in preparation for qualifying and the race. I am satisfied. »
