From the point of view of the results and the operation which consists of sanding the champagne, fabio quartararo took over from Catalonia from Johann zarco. The 19-year-old rider, who competes in Moto2 with a SpeedUp with discovered potential, is establishing himself as the spoilsport of this last part of the season before the summer break. Winner in Montmélo, the Frenchman took second place in Assen. And each time, it was the manner that impressed.
Panache, attack and determination. Fabio Quartararo handles these ingredients with real talent since a won Catalan Grand Prix, which the Batavian meeting which followed confirmed. The tricolor is finally asserting itself on the international scene and reminding us that it is not yet 20 years old. The future therefore belongs to him, if he maintains this hellish pace.
On his race and his future, he declared: “ this race in Assen was quite difficult, because I had some rhythm problems with the wind at the start. So I mainly built my performance in the last laps. I'm happy because it's our second podium in a row and we had a very good run.
It was even better than in Barcelona where I won because in Catalonia I had driven alone for a large part of the Grand Prix. In Assen, it was the best place to take I think. For Germany, we'll see. I always had problems with the hard tire there, but we will work to fix that and be on the podium again ».

For 2019, he specifies: “ I'm going to stay at SpeedUp. This is my best option. We have a contract so I will respect it. If we continue on this path, then maybe I will have an opportunity to go to MotoGP in 2020. But I remain focused on Moto2 in order to open up possibilities for 2020 ».
