At the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, the Suzuki team's two GSX-RRs will be equipped with new engine specifications that have already been race tested by test rider Sylvain Guintoli during the last Catalan Grand Prix.

This new specification is designed to give a slightly higher performance in terms of top speed.

Suzuki, like KTM and Aprilia, is one of the manufacturers who always benefit from concessions and, as such, can develop their engines during the year, which is not the case for Honda, Yamaha and Ducati.

Davide Brivio : “The last race in Barcelona was difficult for us, but fortunately the test we did on Monday was positive and it allowed us to regain some confidence. We know that Assen can be a complicated place in terms of weather conditions and last year we had difficulties at this circuit, but the positive first part of the 2018 season and the improvements made in recent tests make me believe that we will be able to have a good weekend. During the Catalan Grand Prix, Sylvain Guintoli inaugurated a new engine specification and his feedback was positive; on our side too, we saw that this could give us better performance in terms of top speed. Our plan is to equip Andrea and Alex's two factory GSX-RRs with the same engine upgrade, hoping to give them better performance.
