After an excellent weekend in Catalonia, the Tech 3 driver unfortunately made an error in the race which caused him to fall and thus put an end to the hope of achieving a very good result. Regardless, he wants to try his luck again at Assen.

Since the start of the season, Hafiz Syahrin impressed. Arriving almost at the last minute of Moto2 to replace Jonas Folger in the Tech 3 team, he proved his talent by entering the points in the first race in Qatar, finishing fourteenth.

He then managed to finish twice in twelfth place, and even enter the top 10 for his second race in Argentina with ninth position. Although he also made some mistakes, he currently occupies seventeenth place in the Championship, just two points behind the best rookie and reigning Moto2 world champion, Franco Morbidelli.

Syahrin is thus establishing himself, little by little, among the fast drivers by progressing in each race. When he fell during the Barcelona race, he was preparing to put in a very good performance.

The motivation and determination are therefore there to try to do better in Assen, or even to take a step forward in qualifying: “I'm going to give my best for the Assen race because I want to finish in the points again, and try to do like in Barcelona, from FP1 until the race in which I crashed. I think I can do good things there given that, looking at last year, the Yamaha works really well there. I also hope that the conditions will be pleasant. I continue to work hard to be ready for FP1 with the team. I want to fight for the place of best rookie and will aim to progress to Q2 for the first time. »
