A championship that he watches closely. Perhaps not in the hope of a title since he has 27 points on the formidable Marc Márquez, but with the idea of ​​a final podium which he is currently defending against the winner at Mugello, Petrucci. The latter follows him six lengths away.

Still, his Tuscan performance put his mind back in place and put a smile back on the faces of the GSX-RR crew: “ I couldn't have hoped for a better result, especially considering my starting position " said Alex Rins at the end of the race. “ I recovered a lot of positions on the first lap, but unfortunately I lost too much time on the straight. We knew Mugello would be a complicated track for us, but I gave it my all. I tried to pass Dovizioso in the last corner, but he had more traction than me. In any case, I am happy with my fourth place. It's an important result which helps me in my view of the championship ».
