Marcel Schrötter qualified on pole position for the third time in his Grand Prix career, following Qatar and the Americas this year, which was his last front row start. He is now in second place on the list of German riders with the most pole positions in Moto2 behind Stefan Bradl (7 pole positions). Tom Lüthi qualified in second place. He has been on the category podium twice at Mugello, third in 2012 and second in 2017.

The winner of the French Grand Prix, Alex Marquez, completes the first row of the grid. This is the first time he has qualified on the front row at least four times in a row since 2017. Nicholas Bulega leads the second row, his best qualifying result of his rookie year in Moto2.
On the podium of the last three races, Jorge Navarro qualified in fifth place, which is the fourth consecutive time he has managed to qualify in the top six. Luca marini completes his second row by signing his best performance in qualifying since his pole position in Valencia last year.
The leader of the championship, Lorenzo Baldassarri, who twice stood on the podium in Moto2 at Mugello in 2016 and 2018, qualified in 15th place, matching his worst Americas qualifying performance this year.
20° in the air and 25° on the track and a storm of blue sky are the conditions proposed to the pilots. The Italians reveal their colors in honor of the national meeting like the VR46 team or Forward MV Agusta.

Pasini attacks and puts the cursor at 1'52.320. Marini answers in 1'52.178. Lowes et Alex Marquez are placed second to the younger brother of whom you know as the last five minutes have begun.
