The Suzuki driver arrives at his “home” Grand Prix more motivated than ever in order to forget his fall at Le Mans. He who was in a very positive dynamic with two consecutive podiums, in fact saw his work reduced to nothing from the first lap of the race. It was a difficult pill to swallow, but he is now focused on the weekend that awaits him at Mugello.

The Italian route has often smiled on Andrea Iannone. Winner in his first season in Moto2 in 2010, he also won in 2012 before moving to MotoGP the following year. He then scored two podiums at this Grand Prix in 2015 and 2016.

Even if 2017 was more complicated, the Suzuki has progressed enormously, which allows the Italian rider to be rather confident: “I am happy to say that we arrive in Italy in a better situation than last year. Our competitiveness is higher, but at the same time we have to be realistic knowing that the general level of the Championship has increased a lot, and we have to keep our pace. »

However, he remains objective and knows that his bike is still missing a little something to really play in front every time: “We did some testing here three weeks ago and had good results, but we also found things that can and should be improved to achieve better performance. »

Wishing to forget his blank result at Le Mans, Iannone is very motivated: “The Italian Grand Prix will not be easy, far from it, but I really like the circuit, I have already won here several times in the past, and we also have the support of our fans who will come. add to all this. »
