We know a little more than the terrible accident of a Michele Pirro who miraculously emerges unscathed from a figure not to be reproduced. Because the Ducati test rider recognizes it: he played a joker. But he clarifies that he has nothing to do with it. Because when he arrived at the most delicate place on the Mugello track, where he had to go from 350 to 80 km/h, he found himself without brakes... And what's more, he had no airbags in his suit …

Which is still a lot, but Pirro got away with it. He even thought about taking the handlebars again for Sunday's race, but the doctors brought him back to his senses and notably by presenting him with a mirror so that he could become aware of his swollen face. Head trauma and shoulder dislocation are the lesser evils.

The reasons for the tragedy remain. Which are technical. And which recalls the worries of Lorenzo in Qatar. Michele explains on GP One : " I found myself without brakes in San Donato. So I held on to everything I could. I braked from behind and hit the handlebars which blocked the front. Afterwards I flew away like Superman and woke up in the hospital. I remember that before, I had to stop for a brake problem. When I saw the speed at which I was rushing through the gravel, I got scared and did everything I could to slow down ».

This will require expertise from Brembo.
