The tire allocation initially provided by Michelin for this Italian Grand Prix (See here) has just been slightly modified by the addition of a 4th front tire.

This one is a asymmetrical hard tire, a little harder on his right shoulder, which complements the symmetrical hard tire initially planned by the men from Clermont-Ferrand.

Both models have a yellow stripe and it will therefore not be possible to visually distinguish them.

Piero Taramasso : “We asked Dorna to be able to bring an additional front tire because this circuit is very complex. We did 2 days of testing, May 10 and 11, and after analyzing all the results, we thought that an additional asymmetric tire, currently the one that won the race last year and used during the race by Ducati , Honda and KTM, was a good solution and one that we might miss. We therefore asked Dorna to be able to add this asymmetrical hard tire, and we kept the 3 others that we had decided at the start of the year, the soft, the medium and the symmetrical hard. This is why we have 4 front tires and we think this is better for all riders because they have a better choice. They can choose symmetrical or asymmetrical, just as, depending on the temperatures, they can also find exactly the right tire for each condition.”
