The Aprilia rider is not very optimistic after this second day. However, the weekend had started well...

Aleix Espargaró was very satisfied with his day at the end of this Friday. Although he did not race in FP2 due to poor track conditions, he took tenth place in FP1, which ensured him of Q2 in the event it rained today.

Unfortunately, all the sessions this Saturday took place in the dry and did not go very well for the Spanish driver. First seventeenth in FP3, he then finished nineteenth in FP4. Qualifying promised to be complicated, yet he was on the verge of advancing to Q2, but an error prevented him from doing so on his last flying lap.

Espargaró will therefore have to settle for nineteenth position on the grid tomorrow: “I drove at the limit. I was aiming for Q2 but I made a mistake in the last corner. I was very fast on that lap, but sometimes you can do the perfect lap and still make a mistake. This happened to me today. I didn't feel good on the bike today. I had almost no grip, I was sliding a lot and having difficulty braking the machine. In FP4 I tried both types of tire and was then able to make my choice. My pace is not fantastic but the goal is to fight to score points. It's a realistic goal, but we'll see tomorrow. Honestly, even if I wanted to, I wouldn't believe in the top 10. I'm going to do my best to stay focused and not make any mistakes. We will have to get a good start and get as close as possible to the front of the race. »
