The younger brothers of the elders in MotoGP who are Marini and Álex Márquez made the powder speak this morning on the Mugello track which hosts the Italian Moto2 Grand Prix. The Speed Up chassis also showed good dispositions with the local Di Giannantonio so that the fight seems open in this category that Baldassarri leads in the general classification. Precisely, the latter was the big absentee from the first free practice session. Deliberate choice for a particular work plan or real technical or even physical problem after his heavy fall at Le Mans?

24° in the air, 44° on the track and a storm of blue sky are the pleasant conditions offered to the pilots. In 1'53.399, NAVARRO confirms the beautiful shape of the Speed Up. Marini answers him in 1'53.014. But Nagashima did better by opening the 1'52 site in 1'52.721. Lüthi responds with six thousandths less.
Open up peaks at 300 km/h, to the delight of Triumph. This is unheard of in the intermediate category. The Italian is however only 14th.

After ten minutes, Lüthi improves in 1'52.326 and NAVARRO follows with his teammate Di Giannantonio behind. If Speed Up stands up to the Kalex, this is not yet the case at KTM where Lecuona, the best representative, is eleventh. Bezzecchi crash at turn 5. The driver is stunned. He was 20th. Joe Roberts fall in turn. He was 26th.

Nagashima crash mid-session at turn 2. He was sixth. Alex Marquez did the same at turn 1. As we approached the last quarter of an hour… He was fifth.

Baldassarri reassures by scoring seventh. The last five minutes wake you up Pasini who clocked a 1'52.173 which put him in control of the session. Gardner climbs fifth before Schrötter Don't tell him the position. Martin boosts morale at KTM by coming fourth. His teammate Binder is tenth.

Under the checkered flag, Marini preserved his morning leadership in 1'51.986 ahead Lüthi which accompanies him under 1'52 per lap for 8 thousandths... Pasini, Schrötter et Open up follow. NAVARRO with his Speed Up is ahead of Martin, best KTM representative. Alex Marquez is 12nd in front Binder. Baldassarri is 18th and therefore not yet in Q2…
