Team manager of the Pramac Racing team, Francesco Guidotti is keeping Danilo Petrucci on an official Ducati this year, while Jack Miller replaces Scott Redding who is leaving for Aprilia. What are the chances of the Italian and the Australian?

Let's start with Petrucci. “ Ducati believes in him and entrusts him with an official for the third year in a row. This could be the year of consecration for him, everyone believes that he can take the last step. 2017 was his best year, but now he is starting from scratch, the past no longer matters.

“Last year, Danilo missed a GP victory once by 60 thousandths and another time because he found himself against a Marquez who risked everything, that means he didn't miss much.

“He needs more confidence, not to underestimate himself. He knows what it takes to improve his riding style and being aware of the problem is already a good result. It's not easy to change the way you ride, but you can do it. I know that Danilo has extraordinary determination and he needs it against runners who have four and a half “balls”. For our part, we will do our best. »

Jack Miller

“No one knows what it’s really worth. We have to put him in a position to express himself, but I think he can do better than what he has shown so far. In my opinion, Jack has a lot to express.

“If I look at his history in MotoGP, the first year cannot be taken into consideration, the technical level of his bike was too low. In the second he won a race and to succeed is always difficult, especially in these conditions.

“He probably heard a wake-up call when he realized he could stay on foot in 2018. In my opinion, we have to start from his last races of 2017, where he proved to be competitive. »

“Surely it’s time for him to stop playing.” You have to be serious. A pilot must have understood from the start that he must be a professional, in terms of dedication and sacrifice.

“I had the impression of being in front of a fast and talented driver, but with limitations at the level, so to speak, structural – explains Francesco. On the other hand, he manages to transmit his feelings very well to the team. Maybe he lost some time, but he can recover. »
