The Suzuki driver arrives at the French Grand Prix with excellent momentum. After a ninth place in Qatar and eighth position in Argentina, he scored two podiums in Texas and Jerez, enough to give him confidence for this weekend, despite a mixed start.

Andrea Iannone had a discreet first day on the Bugatti circuit. Although seventh in FP1, he then finished fourteenth in FP2: “This morning I found that we needed to improve some areas, and this afternoon we didn't make much progress, but everything is working well and we have a clear idea of what we need for tomorrow. The main point is to progress a little more, and we hope to do that. »

If his fourteenth place in the combined times could prove to be a handicap with a view to automatically qualifying for Q2, Andrea Iannone remains very sad: “I'm calm because we worked well during the Mugello tests, and we didn't feel the need to change many settings. »

The Italian and his team know exactly what to work on tomorrow, and seem quite confident: “We struggled a bit today with braking and in some tight corners. If we improve this, we will be at a really good level. »
