For his second season in Moto2, Fabio Quartararo went from a Kalex machine to a Speed Up, in a new team, and with different suspension changes during the winter, which did not facilitate his adaptation to the bike. However, after a somewhat complicated start to the season, he is playing more and more up front and has just achieved his best result of the year during the HJC Grand Prix de France.

The team manager of the team recognized it at the beginning of the year : his decision to return to Öhlins suspensions during the winter had handicapped his two drivers who were not able to arrive properly prepared for the first race in Qatar.

The result was felt since fabio quartararo had finished twentieth, then twenty-second in Argentina. From Texas onwards, however, things had started to improve, and he was able to score his first point of the season by finishing fifteenth. The real change then took place at Jerez where he finished tenth.

The French Grand Prix only confirmed the positive dynamic in which the Frenchman currently finds himself. After a fifteenth place in FP1, he finished tenth in FP2 and sixth in FP3, before unfortunately missing his qualifications a little by not being able to do better than fourteenth.

Fabio, however, did not give up in the race and took eighth place, his best result this year. A new top 10 which makes him very happy, as he confided “hotly”: “A fairly positive Grand Prix, we finished again in the top 10 with an eighth place. We were there all weekend and we had a good rhythm. What we lacked is to perform well in qualifying in order to be able to start among the first nine, therefore in the first three rows. In the race we came back well. I started fourteenth and finished eighth so I'm happy with this result. Looking forward to Mugello! »
