The French Grand Prix was not easy for the Repsol Honda driver who never managed to play at the front, particularly due to his physical condition. However the race went better than the rest of the weekend, allowing him to leave with a positive result.

After progressing during the Warm Up, Dani Pedrosa seemed to be able to get back into the race. Qualified in tenth position, he started from the fourth row and managed to gradually overtake his opponents to finally finish fifth.

Given his results over the weekend, this place rewards all the efforts made to get back in front: “Fifth is an acceptable result considering the weekend and my physical condition. We recovered five places after starting tenth, which is not easy on this track. Today it was important not to fall, and we managed to finish the race, which allows us to approach the next one with more confidence. Ultimately our pace at the end of the race was consistent, even if we are not as fast as we would like to be. We were able to improve the bike's settings throughout the weekend, and I would like to thank the team for that. »

If he did not manage to return to one hundred percent of his physical condition during the weekend, he hopes that this will be the case before Mugello in two weeks. Until then, he will travel to Spain with his team to carry out new tests: “Now we will see how I feel after next week's tests in Catalonia. We will try to improve our performance, and I hope I will get better. »
