Even though he was a little far away this morning during the Warm Up, Jorge Lorenzo had an excellent pace during the first third of the race, even leading for nine laps. Unfortunately, he did not manage to stay at the forefront.
When the lights go out, it's a Jorge Lorenzo full of power and aggression who started from sixth position and took the lead during the first turn. Leader for many laps, he was then overtaken and lost place on the spot before finishing where he started, in sixth position.
Even if he was very strong at the start of the race, he was obviously a little disappointed when he returned to the box: “Once again I had an excellent start, which allowed me to lead the race for nine laps, but unfortunately I could not maintain the pace over the entire distance. We still have a small ergonomic problem which makes the bike tiring for me, and I cannot be consistent over several laps. »
However, these laps in the lead allow him to be positive, especially knowing that new tests will take place and that solutions will perhaps be found: “Fortunately, in two days we go to Montmeló for a day of testing and we will try to find a solution because I am convinced that if we manage to resolve these last details we will be able to fight for podiums and victories. »
Despite everything, the conclusion of this Sunday remains positive: “In all cases we finished the race, and after the blank result in Jerez, that was one of our objectives. »
