We like to constantly change schedules in Qatar, and 2018 is no exception to the rule. In the past, we were entitled to the warm-up which took place the day before the race. For 2018, we are eliminating Thursday testing, and we are starting testing sessions like daytime races.

It had previously been decided to only ride after dark in order to avoid the heat, and a multitude of searchlights were installed for this purpose. Then numerous falls took place at the end of the evening, when humidity began to appear. It was therefore decided to bring the schedules forward.

Another reason for removing the Thursday testing day is that it increased costs, with an additional hotel night. On a sporting level, competing in races earlier will allow greater room for maneuver in the event of delays due to red flag interruptions.
