The man with the white beard, the scarlet tunic and the hood has done his job, but at the foot of the tree, there can still be surprises as we move from one year to the next. It's called New Years, and, in order not to be right on time for the first meeting of the 2020 MotoGP season, the official timekeeper is offering tocantes in honor of the champions who brighten up the races. The proof…

Question: What do Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo et Thomas Lüthi ? The passion for motorcycles, that goes without saying, but also the choice of watch. The three pilots are in fact all ambassadors of Tissot, official timekeeper of MotoGP. While waiting for the launch of the next season which will take place on March 8 at Qatar, the well-known brand in the world of Swiss watchmaking reveals which hands will mark 2020.

The brand wants to inspire its models with the same dynamic and robust appearance of motorcycles, with details that reflect some of their characteristics, such as the counters with buttons inspired by footrests. The new models are characterized by the addition of a few touches of red. “ We wanted to reintroduce red into the 2020 MotoGp Collection », explains François Thiébaud, president of Tissot, “ because it is part of the DNA of both worlds. These new versions are as modern as the machines that inspire them. Tissot looks forward to celebrating next season in MotoGP, its long-time partner, and with these exceptional new products ».

Among the new features, there are two models from the standard collection: one in quartz, limited to 4 pieces, and an automatic version limited to 999 pieces. The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Quartz Limited Edition has the bezel and crown guards reminiscent of a motorcycle's caliper and brake disc, a dial with a honeycomb pattern and a perforated leather strap with red stitching.

The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Limited Edition has a steel and black fiberglass case in a “sandwich” construction accompanied by a perforated leather strap with red stitching, sportier than ever. The indexes and numerals applied at different heights give depth to the dial and the transparent case back has a five-spoke wheel motif that represents the wheels used in racing.

There are, as always, special limited edition copies for each of its motorcycle ambassadors: Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo et Thomas Lüthi, inspire those. The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Marc Márquez 2020, limited to 3 993 examples (93 is both Márquez's race number and his year of birth) has an ant on the dial, a distinctive symbol of the driver.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo 2020, limited to 1 999 copies, reproduces Lorenzo's famous "X" logo, in an intense shade of red on the 60-minute subdial and has the logo of his number 99 engraved on the case back.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP Thomas Lüthi 2020 was manufactured in 1 212 examples (12 is its race number) and features custom design elements, such as the Swiss driver's logo depicted on the subdials and engraved on the case back.
