The first test of “King of the Baggers” at Laguna Seca was such a success that the bosses of Motoamerica delivered their verdict: a Custom category has been created, and will be part of the AMA Superbike support races. We will therefore see the big Harley and Indian V-Twins putting on a show once again on the track.

We will have the opportunity to see these machines take to the track again, after the fantastic epic of Laguna Seca, where spectators will not soon forget the big V-twins scraping on the ground and attacking in a way that most could not have predicted on the emblematic Monterey track, especially since the drivers were far from 'be sleeves.

There will be five races in which the big V-Twins will keep company with the AMA Supersport and AMA Superbike categories: the mini-championship will begin at Road Atlanta on May 2, then continue to Road America, Laguna Seca and Pittsburgh. On September 19, it will be time for the final, alongside the last round of Motoamerica on the Barber Motorsport Park track. The only motorcycles authorized in this category will obviously be the large customs, although energetically lightened, improved and reinforced to withstand the constraints that the track imposes. But still with a screen, the original toe clips and the saddlebags. Class in Dallas, in short!

“The debut of the category in Laguna Seca went beyond expectations, so the development of the project was natural” explained Wayne Rainey, the boss of Motoamerica. “There are many fans of this type of motorcycle in the USA, so we decided to integrate this show into five of the circuits on the calendar, opening the door to all riders and teams who want to participate.” During the race at Laguna Seca, no less than 13 Harley-Davidsons and Indians took part, sponsored by well-known names in American motorsport such as Roland Sands, S&S and Vance & Hines. The event, which celebrated Tyler O'Hara's success on Team S&S's Indian, also featured former SBK riders such as Ben Bostrom and Josh Herrin.
