Riding Zone decided to make a childhood dream come true: ride a speed bump, and why not even land a backflip? With displayed measurements of 8 meters long and 70 centimeters high, these extraordinary dimensions make a speed bump located in Longueil-Sainte-Marie, in the Oise, the largest in France.

The reality is that the quality of French infrastructure is deteriorating day by day. Its constant deterioration does not seem to worry too much the current government, which nevertheless generously allocates funds for the creation of roundabouts and speed bumps throughout the country.

The first may even seem good to us, since it has proven to be a good element for slowing down traffic as much as for making it flow more smoothly. The same cannot be said about speed bumps, since in addition to being really harmful to the damping systems of automobiles, they can sometimes cause accidents to motorists who pass over them without slowing down.

It is nevertheless a speed bump that interests us, but not just any speed bump: located in the small town of Longueil-Sainte-Marie, in Yvelines, it is considered to be the largest speed bump in the world. France. And for good reason, it measures 8 meters long and 70cm high!

Put in place a few years ago, the purpose of this speed bump was initially to prevent caravans from accessing the parking area. Previously, stones were placed there to discourage travelers, but they “told us that there was no point in putting large stones to obstruct their passage because they were moving them, so we had this idea”, explains the village mayor, Stanislas Barthélémy.

Since then, this installation has become known to riders and other skateboard, BMX and scooter enthusiasts who come to have fun and perform tricks. And the bump finally obtained recognition thanks to the platform dedicated to extreme sports Riding Zone, which wondered if a backflip on this installation was possible. The video response
