Jorge's progress continues little by little, and that's a good thing on the occasion of this Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, only about fifty kilometers from Ducati headquarters, and with a grandstand reserved for his arch fans. -at the height like every year.

After his brilliant podium obtained during the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez, Lorenzo once again found third position, this time after free practice, behind Valentino Rossi et Marc Marquez.

He then settled for eighth place during the fourth free practice session, tied on time with Maverick Vinales, to the nearest thousandth. If the position was not excellent, on the other hand the time was good, only 0.289 from the best time achieved by Johann Zarco.

During qualifying, Jorge achieved the seventh performance, which ranked him third Ducati rider behind his teammates Andrea Dovizioso and Michele Pirro. Lorenzo will therefore start from the third row of the starting grid alongside the two other Desmosedici of Alvaro Bautista and Danilo Petrucci.

For Jorge Lorenzo, “ I am completely satisfied despite my position on the grid which was not what I had hoped for. We're actually a lot better with race pace than when it comes to setting a lap time, but in any case, it's my best qualifying performance this year after Austin.

“The most important thing is that we found a setting that I think can work well tomorrow in the race and also in the future.

“As for the race itself, we are all very close and it is complicated to make predictions, but I think if I can start well I can fight with the leading group. »
