#ItalianGP Moto2 Qualifying: Morbidelli pulls the piece

The MotoGP had barely lined up in the boxes, when the Moto2 riders rushed onto the Mugello track for qualifications that the Italian public would like to see go to one of their many compatriots in the running. Morbidelli and Pasini had so far put themselves forward during the free practice sessions. But a Spaniard named Alex Márquez had also shown great determination for the position of leader of the starting grid.

As he seems to get used to, Alex Marquez did not bother with preliminaries to set a prime benchmark in 1'51.715 which was quite simply the fastest lap in the category since Friday. Lüthi et Morbidely could only limit the damage by four tenths. A first blow that knocked you to the ground bagnaia and Virgin who each fell in turn in the same turn 12. Sandra Cortese, for his part, preferred turn 11 to stand out unfavorably, in a very particular style.

Nakagami led the rest of the peloton and the astonishing Gardner was proudly in fifth position. Quarterly was twenty-first. But we were only at the hors d'oeuvre... Which ultimately turned out to be a cold buffet. Because the guests remained well behaved until the last five minutes, when Pasini decided to spice up the menu by placing himself in second place. A final excitement that was missed Remy Gardner. The Australian on the Mistral 610 fell at turn 4.

But the last piece to chew was snatched away in the last seconds by Morbidely who pushed his teammate from the front row by 36 thousandths. Pasini anchored his place on the front row in 1'51. The second opened the 1'52 series with Lüthi who dominated Nakagami et Marini. NAVARRO follows and presents himself as the best of the beginners since Bagnaia is only sixteenth.

Baldassarri, Olive tree et Courses complete a top 10 narrowly missed by Gardner. Quartararo is twenty third behind Virgin.
