At Mugello we pulled out all the stops to officially announce news that had become an open secret. Yes, it's the manufacturer Triumph which will supply the engines for the next Moto2 seasons. The three-cylinder engine of the 765 model will be in the breach to succeed the Honda 600 of the CBR which has been working in the category since 2010.

In passing, it should be noted that Honda had never been keen on this substantial technical support for the discipline. On the other hand, Triumph triumphs and when the bans were published, the men of the brand clearly associated the range found in the concessions of the coat of arms with the approach.

Hervé Poncharal et Carmelo Ezpeleta have brought their seals to this union with undisguised pleasure by a brand which thus offers itself an entry ticket to the Grand Prix. Because Dorna will finance part of the engines, which will be prepared at ExternPro in Motorland Aragon.

Chassis builders and teams can therefore get to work in preparation for the 2019 season and beyond. On this subject, we will remind you that the Marc VDS team, official representative of Kalex, will purchase five production Triumph engines to test the future new German cycle part.

In its 'road' version, the 765cc Street Triple RS engine develops 123HP at 11 rpm and a torque of 700Nm at 77 rpm.
