At the end of a magnificent and spectacular Grand Prix, Andrea Migno, driver of Valentino Rossi's Sky Racing VR46, managed to win in the sprint ahead of di Giannantonio, Guevara, Binder, Canet, McPhee and Mir. It was the first victory for a KTM this year.

After the decommissioning of George Martin, author of the best qualifying time, John mcphee started from pole position, alongside Joan Mir, the leader of the Championship, and Fabio di Giannantonio. Nicolo Bulega, the fastest during the warm up, made up the second row alongside Juanfran Guevara and Roman Fenati. The third line welcomed Marcos Ramirez, Bo Bendsneyder et Tatsuki suzuki. The air temperature was 22° and that of the track 27°. The sky was quite cloudy.

Among all the drivers on the grid, only Romano Fenati and Fabio di Giannantonio had previously been on the podium at Mugello. Despite his back pain, Nicolo Bulega ran without painkillers. At KTM, only the Ajo team riders used the new chassis, although it was available to everyone. Each of the drivers set off on medium Dunlops at the front and rear.

Fabio di Giannantonio had the best start ahead of John McPhee, Romano Fenati, Tatsuki Suzuki and Joan Mir. Jorge Martin, who started twelfth, quickly rose to sixth position. Romano Fenati took the lead, ahead of di Giannantonio, Suzuki, Mir, McPhee and Martin. Di Giannantonio took first position, followed by Fenati, Suzuki, Martin, Mir, Suzuki and McPhee. Jules Danilo was fourteenth.

A group of seven riders stood out slightly, including di Giannantonio, Fenati, Ramirez, Martin, Mir, Suzuki and McPhee. Jorge Martin took the lead 18 laps from the checkered flag, ahead of Darryn Binder who was well back. Nicolo Bulega was eleventh ahead of his Sky Racing Team VR46 teammate Andrea Migno.

Romano Fenati regained first position, ahead of Binder, Mir, di Giannantonio, Ramirez and Martin. Andrea Migno moved up to seventh position. Danilo was then eighteenth. The first twenty were grouped into three seconds. Joan Mir took command, soon relayed by Andrea Migno. Di Giannantonio returned to the lead, ahead of Fenati, the two teammates Ramirez and Binder, McPhee, Martin and Migno.

Marcos Ramirez took first 12 laps from the checkered flag, then Binder overtook him, followed shortly after by McPhee. It was then Joan Mir's turn to lead. Jules Danilo fell without gravity. Edoardo Sintoni retired at his stand. With 8 laps remaining, the first 22 were grouped in 2.6. Di Giannantonio preceded Ramirez, Fenati, Suzuki, Binder, McPhee and Mir.

Mir regained the advantage, but di Giovanni overtook him, followed by McPhee, Bulega and Mir. Bulega took command, followed shortly after by Binder. In the fight, Bulega went thirteenth and Fenati seventeenth. Martin was tenth, just ahead of Mir. Migno became the leader with 5 laps remaining ahead of Sasaki, Guevara and Canet. Guevara took command, while Suzuki and Binder struggled and lost places.

Di Giannantonio led with two laps remaining ahead of Guevara, Canet, McPhee, Ramirez and Migno. Guevara regained command, while Mir was only eighth. Migno became the leader at the start of the last lap, ahead of di Giannantonio, Guevara and Binder.

Under the checkered flag, Migno won ahead of di Giannantonio, Guevara, Binder, Canet, McPhee and Mir.
