During the second free practice session, the Transalpines were masters at home. With a time of 1'57.328, one hundredth of Brad Binder's lap record, Fabio di Giannantonio was ahead of Nicolo Bulega, Lorenzo Dalla porta, John McPhee, Joan Mir and Jorge Martin.

The temperature had risen significantly, with 26° for the air and 51° for the track. Joan mir already completed his first flying lap under two minutes, in 1'59.905. Roman Fenati did even better in 1'59.331. This second free practice session started with a good pace. Tony Arbolino took the lead in 1'58.577, the third time of the day.

Romano Fenati took the best performance in 1'58.325 22 minutes from the checkered flag, 0.2 ahead of Tony Arbolino, 0.4 ahead of Juanfran Guevara and 0.6 ahead of Joan Mir and Nicolo Bulega. Jules Danilo was fourteenth at 1.3. John McPhee moved to third, 0.01 behind Arbolino.

In the combined classification of the two sessions, Fenati preceded Martin, Arbolino, McPhee and Guevara. Philipp Oettl was in seventh place, looking in better shape than at Le Mans. Aron canet was tenth and Jorge Martin twelfth. Manuel Pagliani had not yet completed a timed lap with 15 minutes to go, the victim of a technical problem.

Andrea Migno (then twenty-fourth) fell quite sharply, fortunately without injuring himself. His teammate Nicholas Bulega still suffered from his back after his fall in the French GP. 12 minutes from the checkered flag, Fabio di Giannantonio took the best time in 1'57.923. Many drivers wore a soft rear to prepare for the qualifying session.

Joan Mir moved into second position behind Fabio di Giannantonio with 5 minutes to go, but Jorge Martin was ahead of him shortly after by 0.03. Then Nicolo Bulega progressed to second position ahead of Lorenzo Della Porta, John McPhee and Joan Mir. Leader Fabio di Giannantonio accelerated his pace in 1'57.328, 0.05 ahead of Nicolo Bulega and 0.2 ahead of Lorenzo Della Porta.

Finally, Fabio di Giannantonio preceded Nicolo Bulega, Lorenzo Dalla porta, John McPhee, Joan Mir and Jorge Martin. Jules Danilo finished fourteenth.
