The time to improve during this third free practice session was the 1'57.328 set the day before by Fabio di Giannantonio, who said hello this Saturday morning:

At KTM, only Bo Bendsneyder and Niccolo Antonelli used the new, recently approved frame. The other KTM teams were entitled to it, regulations required, but preferred to keep the old model while waiting for the official team to succeed in making the new one work. Several technical managers of client teams explained that also a change between two GPs was problematic, after so many tests to adapt the current frames to the tastes of the drivers.

Joan Mir set the first fast lap during the initial run in 1'58.594. He preceded Albert Arenas, rather discreet until then, as did his Mahindra official team Aspar. Nicholas Bulega took second position from him on his Sky Racing Team VR46 KTM, despite persistent back pain following his involvement in the collective crash at the French Grand Prix.

Jorge Martin set the best time in 1'57.976 on his Honda Gresini. After the fastest time of his teammate Fabio di Giannantonio the day before, this indicated that the Italian team could count on two competitive drivers for its national Grand Prix. As Romano Fenati closed in second, George Martin accelerated in 1'57.809.

With just under 15 minutes to go before the checkered flag, many riders were switching from medium Dunlop tires to softs, and groups were starting to form to benefit from the aspiration on the 1 meters of the course (especially for the Moto141s) straight line. And obviously some were waiting for the right wheel.

Joan Mir was the first to come close to di Giannantonio's best time from the day before, in 1'57.462. Jules Danilo then occupied twenty-third position at 1.9. Philipp Oettl, back from injury following testing at the Jerez GP, and not in good shape at Le Mans, climbed to a good third position.

Under the checkered flag, Fabio di Giannantonio maintained the best time of the three sessions in 1'57.328. Joan Mir was the fastest this Saturday morning in 1'57.462, ahead of Nicolo Bulega, Romano Fenati, John mcphee, Philipp Oettl and Jorge Martin. Jules Danilo was twelfth at 0.9.
