After a FP4 that was as competitive as it was eventful, in particular for Valentino Rossi and Marc Márquez, and with extremely tight times for the top 10, this qualification for the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello promises to be very tense to say the least!
A qualification that will be mixed in at the last minute Johann zarco et Danilo Petrucci who made it out of the Q1 repechage.
The sun is now beating down on the circuit, heating the air to 32°, the track to 55°.

Like he usually does, Jorge Lorenzo is the first to hit the track. He takes behind him a Marc Marquez who, until now, has not been very convincing on the Italian circuit.
The first round sees Alex Espargaro fall at turn #9 while Danilo Petrucci, just drafted from Q1, set a first milestone in 1'47.497, a time that he would transform into 1'47.266 on the next pass.
Barely 5 thousandths behind the Italian, Maverick Vinales place at Yamaha during the first run. Next Marquez, Pedrosa, Rossi, Pirro, Bautista, Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Zarco and Rabat.
The drivers then put a second soft tire on the rear, and it's again Jorge Lorenzo who comes out first, taking advantage of the empty track to place third, less than a tenth from Petrucci. Immediately afterwards, the Majorcan rider returns to the box and takes his second bike for a third attempt.
In the last three minutes, Alvaro Bautista, Andrea Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa and Maverick Vinales light up the sectors in red. Firstly, we find Bautista ahead of Pedrosa in the lead, but Vinales clocked a 1'46.575 which propelled him to the top of the ranking, 2/10th ahead of Dovizioso.
In extremis, Valentino Rossi takes second place while Marc Márquez had to settle for fifth position, hampered in his fast lap by Johann Zarco.
