Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Marc VDS fractured the tibia of his right leg during an accident in training last Friday while doing trials, putting his foot on the ground to catch an early fall. the front.

This injury came at a very bad time, just before three consecutive Grands Prix in Japan, Australia and Malaysia. “ I didn't even fall", Miller explained. « I was training in trials and I put my foot on the ground after losing front grip. Most of the time, it's harmless, but here I fractured my tibia right near the knee. »

“The injury has since stabilized and I can move my leg slightly. I still have a lot to do to get back in shape at Phillip Island. »

Miller was immediately transported after his fracture, from Andorra where he resides to the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona. He had surgery on Saturday morning, with the insertion of eight screws and a plate to stabilize the tibia and fibula.

He began an intense program of physiotherapy in order to try to be competitive for his national Grand Prix. Currently twelfth in the World Championship with 56 points, he has no place to defend and can therefore miss the Motegi race without any problem. The situation might have been different if, like from 2015 to 2017, next year he was an official Honda driver. The Japanese Grand Prix is organized by this manufacturer on a circuit that it owns. But Miller will ride next season at Pramac with a Ducati, and the pressure from his current employer is therefore much less.

On the other hand, the presence of Miller Phillip Island will be very important for the organizer of the Australian Grand Prix, who can only count on one rider in the MotoGP category. There is also Remy gardner in Moto2, but it is not certain that this one, despite a famous last name, brings many spectators to the circuit. There are no permanent Australian riders in Moto3.
