A year ago on the Twin Ring Motegi circuit, Marc Márquez celebrated his fifth world title on an unpredictable day in Japan, when the crashes of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo gave him the MotoGP World Championship. There will be no new champion crowned at Motegi this year, with Márquez holding just a sixteen-point advantage over Andrea Dovizioso despite his latest victory in Aragón, with Maverick Viñales totaling 28 points behind with four races remaining.

The Pull&Bear Aspar team heads to three consecutive overseas races with a recent eighth place for Álvaro Bautista in Aragón and a strong performance from Karel Abraham still fresh in the memory.

Both Pull & Bear Aspar riders head to Japan with confidence as they look to build on their positive recent form. Bautista and Abraham have fond memories of racing in Motegi, where they both previously stood on the podium.

To Alvaro Bautista, who are " It's the first of three consecutive races outside Europe and after Aragón we can go there in good spirits. We had a great race after a strange weekend with the weather, we fought at the front and put in some good performances. »

“I hope that in Japan, where I have been on the podium in the past, everything will go well for us. This is a “stop & go” circuit, where you need a motorcycle that is stable when braking and accelerating. »

“Our goal is to maintain the same line of work and return to the same level and the same type of result as in the last race. It would be nice to start the overseas races with a great result. It's always nice to race in Japan, where there are a lot of motorcycle racing fans and I always feel a lot of love."

According to Karel Abraham, who are " I'm excited for the next race in Japan. After the best part of the year in Europe, where I travel to all the races by road, it's time for planes, airports and jet lags. »

“I have good memories of Japan where I achieved my first podium in Moto2 after a great battle on the last lap, in the last corners... it was an incredible feeling. »

“Now I'm working for another great result, maybe the podium is too far away to think about, but Motegi is definitely a track where I think we can go well. »
