The leader of the World Championship arrives on difficult terrain because the layout of the Motegi circuit is quite unusual. It is with Le Mans that where we find the most acceleration-braking. Marquez also has a great responsibility on his shoulders because he must defend the colors of his employer Honda, owner of the circuit and organizer of the Japanese Grand Prix.

Marquez and his RC213V are currently in top form, after a recent victory in Aragon, and even a double with Marc's teammate, Dani Pedrosa. This current high level of performance allows Marquez to occupy the lead in the World Championship with 16 points ahead of his direct competitor. Andrea Dovizioso and 28 on the third Maverick Vinales.

Marc has won three times on the Twin Ring Motegi track, once in 125 in 2010, once in Moto2 in 2012 and once in MotoGP in 2016. He also has three other podiums and two pole positions. He was crowned World Champion there in 2014 and 2016.

To Marc Marquez, who are " There are four GPs left at the end of the season, and we have to give 100% to each one, starting with the three overseas rounds. These races are always demanding due to the different time zones and conditions, and this year with the championship so close, they will be even more of a challenge. »

“The most important thing for us is that since Montmeló we have been on the podium in every race except Silverstone. We managed the different conditions and the different circuits well, which gives us confidence and shows that we are at a good level everywhere. »

“We have good memories in Japan because we won there last year and got the title twice, but every season is a new story and we have to stay focused and ready to handle every situation. »

“The track conditions at Motegi can vary significantly and we will have to work hard to find a good compromise for hard acceleration and braking. We will do our best and strive for another good result in front of the Honda fans. »
