The French spectators present this Sunday in Nièvre will have been delighted on a sporting level, despite the somewhat delicate weather. After Lucas Mahias took the lead in the Supersport World Championship before their eyes, it was Jérémy Guarnoni and Florian Marino who achieved a great feat by climbing onto the two highest steps of the podium in Stock 1000.

At 24, Toulouse's Jérémy Guarnoni won his sixth victory in the Superstock 1000 category, seven years after winning the Superstock 600 title, then finishing third in the final Stock 1000 rankings in 2012 and 2013.

Jérémy is particularly efficient at Magny-Cours, where he knows every square inch since his victory at the Bol d'Or in 2014 on Kawasaki SRC with Loris Baz and Grégory Leblanc.

Florian Marino from Cannes is also 24 years old, and he won in Superstock 600, once in 2009 and three in 2010. He then rode more or less regularly in Supersport, finishing third in the Championship in 2014 with the team Kawasaki Intermoto Ponyexpres. He is currently in his third consecutive season in Stock 1000, with an official Yamaha. His second place at Magny-Cours allowed him to strengthen his second position in the provisional Championship standings, since he is now only eight points behind leader Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Ducati official) and can still hope for the title.

Federico Sandi made the best start ahead of Florian Marino, then Marino occupied the first position from second on the fourteenth and penultimate lap. It was in the final loop that Guarnoni, fifth after the first lap, managed to win.
