Here is the press release from the Swiss Innovative Investors team.

Ideal weather conditions awaited the Moto2 riders at the start of the Spanish Grand Prix on the legendary Jerez circuit.

Qualified in eighth position on the grid, Sam Lowes showed caution in the first laps before moving up the hierarchy, like his teammate, who started from the sixth row.

At mid-race, the Briton, in seventh place, was unable to maintain the advantage over Marcel Schrötter. He ultimately had to settle for eighth place at the checkered flag. Iker Lecuona, for his part, gave everything in the last lap in front of his home crowd to overcome Fabio Quartararo and snatch the points from ninth position.

The two representatives of the SWISS INNOVATIVE INVESTORS team, who said they were delighted with their performance in Jerez, are now focusing on the next stage of the calendar at Le Mans for the French Grand Prix.

Sam Lowes (8th): “I have to admit that the pace we had was not what we expected. I was a little nervous because I absolutely had to finish. We are not yet where we would like, but we are not that far away. It was a solid race with a Top 10 finish and the team continues to do a great job. »

Iker Lecuona (9nd): “A very difficult race. Even though I was far back on the grid, I had a good start and the first lap wasn't so bad. I thought I was suffering from the front tire, but on the contrary, I felt good. I especially lacked grip when accelerating. I made a mistake shortly after halfway and lost a few positions in the standings. I stayed focused and managed to gain ground. I had a great battle with Quartararo until the finish. I am really happy. I would like to thank everyone who came to support me, my friends and all my fans. »

Fred Corminboeuf (Team Manager): “Despite a difficult race, both of our drivers finished in the Top 10. Sam needed this result. He fought until the end. We still lack pace, but I am convinced that, step by step, we will get closer to the front. We also implemented a new working method over the weekend, and I think it paid off. He wants a little more, but I know we're close. Iker ran a smart race. He was careful to gradually move up the rankings, despite a small mistake mid-race. I would like to congratulate all the staff for their wonderful work. The team spirit is there and I am proud of it. There is no reason why the results should not follow. »
