The podium was in fact then composed of Alex Márquez, bagnaia and Miguel Olive tree... A trio of choices in which a fourth thief will want to get involved in the person of Joan Mir.

But before launching into the battle, here is the table which puts our ideas in place…

The sky is barely cloudy and the temperatures are in unison, both in the air and on the track, when the protagonists enter the arena. 18°, a redone bitumen, everything is there for a great morning of motorcycling. A celebration that so much Dominique Aegerter which Remy gardner will watch from their beds in pain after being injured in training. The Kiefer team driver and the Tech3 driver are in fact withdrawn. Lukas Tulovic et Hector Héctor Garzò replace them respectively.

The first salvo reveals an astonishing hierarchy with a Iker Lecuona in spirit on his KTM which signs a 1'43.718. The teammate of Sam Lowes ahead Nagashima et Alex Marquez. At the end of the first quarter of an hour, bagnaia takes second place, but still two tenths behind the new leader who remains on the momentum of his excellent fifth place acquired in Austin. His best ranking after 22 Grands Prix completed.

Alex Marquez et Sam Lowes raise their voice and take the chase into their own hands, without dispossessing the Spaniard of control of the session who pushed his advantage to 1'43.242.

Things will thus remain frozen until the start of the last part of the exercise where Baldassarri joins the leading trio. In 1'43.019, Sam Lowes finally manages to take control of his young teammate while taking the place of leader. The Swiss Innovative Investors team therefore takes the lion's share and offers KTM an interesting double. Not bad since, during this time, Olive tree is only thirteenth with the official machine…

Stung, the Portuguese attacked and achieved a 1'43.208 which placed him between the two drivers of the Swiss team, as the last five minutes loomed. A final rush that launches bagnaia who took the lead with the first time below 1'43 per lap. Mir also works hard and moves up to fourth, in front lecuona et Alex Marquez.

Bagnaia, under full sail, signs a 1'42.836 which will not be disputed. Lowes, Fenati, Marquez and Oliveira follow then Mir, Lecuona and Baldassarri. Navarro and Schrotter close the top 10 to Brad Binder. Quartararo is 23rd, Danilo 29th.
