With hindsight, we can say that it was a close call for the Grand Prix of the Americas to be marked by tragedy. So much the better for Efren Vazquez who was relieved of a violent fall during testing with minimal damage given the circumstances. The fact remains that the only Suter driver in the running will not be there at Jerez this weekend.

The Basque, who was so happy in Moto3, is having a terrible season for his first experience in Moto2. Riding the only Suter in the field, he has difficulty getting off the depths of the ranking and when he makes the effort, he then finds himself in the ambulance. In Austin, he scared everyone by falling so heavily that the Moto2 practice session had to be interrupted for almost 15 minutes.

Unconscious and injured in the limbs, we feared the worst for a while. Then more reassuring news arrived. Serious, however, since we regret compression of the T12 vertebra and a fracture of the right ankle.

The latter has been reduced and we see with this shot the kind of paraphernalia that populates the bodies of these decidedly heroic pilots. Efren Vazquez was to discover the new Suter in Spain. The debut is postponed at Le Mans. On the condition that on May 6, the 29-year-old JP Moto rider is ready.
