The Estrella Galicia 0,0 team arrives on more than familiar ground in Jerez, the first European Grand Prix of the season, and above all the first Spanish Grand Prix that its drivers know very well. On this occasion, the team invited a wild card as well as students to participate in this race weekend which will be important in order to regain the lead in the World Championship.

After two second places in Qatar and Argentina, Aron Canet encountered difficulties in the Austin race and could do no better than eighth, thus losing the lead in the general classification which he had regained from Jorge Martín in the previous race. With only seven points behind his compatriot, anything will be possible this weekend on a track on which both were very strong last year: pole position for Martín and victory for Canet.

The Estrella Galicia 0,0 driver therefore arrives extremely motivated with victory as his objective: « Après avoir roulé sur des circuits internationaux nous arrivons enfin à un Grand Prix “maison”. »

Alonso Lopez

His teammate Alonso Lopez made a good start to the season in its first year in the World Cup. Despite a crash in Qatar and a seventeenth place in Austin, he achieved a brilliant sixth place in Argentina, showing his full potential.

He also arrives in Jerez motivated because after three international races, he finally knows the circuit on which he will race, which will undoubtedly help him this weekend: “I have learned a lot during the first three Grand Prix that we have already competed in and our objective will be to continue to progress at the Spanish GP. Given that it's a circuit that I already know, I can arrive more calmly because the level of competition is higher than in CEV, so we will work to ride with a good rhythm and be as far ahead as possible in order to Sunday's race. Racing in Jerez is always special so we will try to do a good job. »

Jeremy Alcoba

Canet and López will be accompanied by a guest driver who will make his World Cup debut this weekend. This is the young Jeremy Alcove, a sixteen-year-old Catalan driver who is currently racing in CEV for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team, and who is obviously delighted with the chance he is being given: “Participating in the Spanish GP as a guest driver is, without a doubt, a great opportunity to learn and gain experience. I can't wait to get on track and measure myself against the World Cup drivers against whom I previously fought in CEV. Although I already know the circuit, we will have to work a lot to try to get as close as possible to this high level. »

Alcoba will not be the only one to start in the World Cup this weekend. In fact, three students from the Monlau Repsol Technical School, two final year of Motorcycle Competition Mechanics and one of the Master of Competition Engineering, will work during the tests under the supervision of engineers and mechanics from the team, so that they can prepare on the ground for their future profession .
