Cloudy sun on the Andalusian circuit but rising temperatures (23/31) which, if they remain very good, will nevertheless not facilitate the improvement of the times.

FP1 2015: 1'47.088 by Efren Vazquez.
FP1 2016: 1'47.241 by Jorge Navarro.
FP2 2015: 1'47.256 by Fabio Quartararo.
Record for the best race time: 1'46.173 by Jack Miller in 2014.

The session begins with the fall of Enzo Boulom, out in the gravel beyond the vibrator.

Meanwhile, another Frenchman, Jules Danilo occupies 5th place of the provisional classification, behind Antonelli, Bastianini, Bagnaia and Rodrigo. The Mahindra driver still uses a 2015 fairing but it must be noted that this technical artifice is not the only cause of its often interesting performances.

Philipp Oettl went out lightly at turn #2 and Livio Loi encountered clutch problems.
At mid-session, the hierarchy was established as follows: Bastianini, Bagnaia, Antonelli, Quartararo, Hanika, Fenati, Rodrigo, Danilo, Navarro and Martin.
Alexis Masbou is then 12th.

Fabio Quartararo then took first place in 1'48.052 while Davide Pizzoli, the other Moto3 wild card for this Spanish Grand Prix, fell without gravity at turn #6.

Shortly after, we witness a huge high side from Fabio Quartararo  at turn #13. The French pilot got up visibly bruised on the lower back but without apparent injury. Jorge Navarro, still currently the fastest overall, is also testing the Andalusian bitumen at turn #9.

Despite a track that was visibly slower than this morning, most of the drivers came out on new tires 7 minutes from the checkered flag for a final rush. Alexis Masbou takes the opportunity to position himself 5th before Binder, Martinet Pawi made a group and simultaneous shot at the first three places. Antonelli responds, alone on the track, by climbing to second position, just like Danilo who confirms his current progress by improving his morning performance by two places during this very competitive session.

We will note the presence of French drivers in the points, Danilo 8th, Quartararo 10th and Masbou 12th, while wild card Enzo Boulom must be content with 35th position.

The differences are ultimately quite significant, only 10 drivers appearing in the same second.
