Here is the press release from Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS following the Jerez Grand Prix.

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Marc VDS secured his first top ten finish in MotoGP today at the Jerez circuit by finishing ninth at the finish of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Getting off to a good start by infiltrating traffic, Morbidelli went from fifteenth to twelfth on the first lap. He then picked up his pace to position himself for one too ten on the eighth lap.

His patience and consistency allowed him, when the tires started to lose grip, to climb ahead of the KTMs of Mika Kallio and Pol Espargaro to finish the race in ninth position.

Despite his crash at turn eleven with ten laps to go, Tom Lüthi had time to demonstrate his potential in MotoGP. Twenty-first on the first lap, the Swiss driver had moved up to fourteenth position when he fell.

The next race will take place in two weeks on the Le Mans circuit.

Franco Morbidelli :9e

“The race was positive for me. I was able to get a good start and as long as I had grip I set good times and recovered positions. I tried to take care of the tires for the second part of the race but at the end I still had to give up to be sure of finishing in the top ten. It's a good thing for the team and also for my confidence before the next races. »

Tom Luthi : Abandonment

“I was in difficulty with the front at the start of the race with a full tank of fuel but I was still able to move up and gain places to find myself in a fight with Tito Rabat. But the more the race progressed, the more difficult it was to keep the pace. That's how I lost the front at turn eleven and my race unfortunately ended. »

Michael Bartholemy : Team Principal

“Franco had a great race and I’m happy to see him in the top ten. This is always a goal for a private team. This consoles us for our bad weekend in Texas. It's a shame that Tom fell because he was fighting with Tito and could end up in the points. But I'm sure he will achieve it in the near future. »
