Álex Rins has had a very good start to the season, marked however by the alternation of excellent results and mistakes: a fall in Qatar, the first podium of his career in Argentina and another fall in Austin. However, he remains as motivated as ever, and had a diligent first day in Jerez.
Alex Rins took his time during this first day of testing. It must be said that he has never ridden on this circuit in MotoGP, except during the tests carried out in November. Injured last year, he discovered the reference data for the race weekend, but also the new surface.
After some difficulties this morning (he finished twenty-first in FP1), he progressed and finished thirteenth in FP2. A rather slow progression that the Suzuki driver justifies: “We did a good job today. The objective was to find the right settings rather than attacking for a good position. »
The day was therefore based on the acquisition of data and the overall feeling of the bike. Rins seems satisfied: “This morning we focused a little on the tires. This afternoon we tried the medium and tried to get a good analysis of the bike's setup for the race. Things are working well. »
Rather confident for tomorrow's qualifications, he knows exactly what to work on: “We just need to adjust some things and improve in the slow corners. »
