After a very complicated weekend in Austin including he came back demoralized, Jorge Lorenzo seems to have regained confidence on the Jerez track. Progressing little by little thanks to advances from Ducati, he finally achieved an excellent qualification which allows him to envisage a good result in the race tomorrow.

No more disappointment, Jorge Lorenzo is all smiles at the end of this Saturday in Jerez. After a good first day where he slowly progressed, going from fifteenth place in FP1 to seventh place in FP2, he placed in the top 5 during FP3 this morning, which allowed him to qualify directly for Q2.

The Mallorcan then performed very well in qualifying, placing fourth, just three tenths from pole position: “We had a great qualifying session and the first row only missed us by 13 thousandths. »

On his return to the box, he was happy with the changes made to his machine since the last Grand Prix: “I am very happy, not only with my time but also with the work we have been doing since arriving in Jerez. With the modifications that Ducati has made for here in Spain, we have partly solved our problems and now the bike is less nervous and I can finally enjoy the strengths of my Desmosedici GP. We must continue like this. »

Extremely motivated, he makes no secret of aiming for the podium tomorrow: “The race will be very tight and complicated for everyone, but I want to give my best. We have to stay focused and try to make an explosive start to try to be in front from the start. »
