After good progress during the weekend in Austin, Valentino Rossi hoped to take advantage of the uncertainties of the race to challenge Marc Marquez for victory.

Unfortunately, an overheated clutch at the start penalized him and forced him to take risks which undoubtedly had a certain share of responsibility in the fall that followed. And this, even if the Yamaha rider barely mentions it.

However, the Doctor only intends to keep the good things from this weekend across the Atlantic, namely his sensations on his Michelin-equipped motorcycle, to reap the rewards in Jerez.

Valentino Rossi: “I am very happy that we are now going to Europe. I wasn't very lucky in the race in Texas, but even after a race like that we have to look at the positive side. We had a very good weekend since we improved during qualifying and I was very comfortable on the bike and also with the Michelins. Austin has always been a very difficult circuit for me but this year it was good.
We now go to Jerez, a track that I really like. It is very different from the first three rounds of the championship. We have to work well, as we did in the first three races, find the right tire settings, continue working on the Michelins and, above all, we have to try to be on the podium on Sunday. »
