A HISTORY OF MEN. How could we imagine that Kenny Roberts' first participation in a European Grand Prix during the 1974 season would lead to a revolution four years later? Crowned with his two “Number One” titles, Kenny Roberts arrived in Europe in 1978 with the firm intention of beating the stars of the Continental Circus. With his yellow and black motorcycles and a different way of approaching racing, Kenny Roberts shattered the certainties of a small romantic world. Three years in a row, Kenny Roberts won the supreme title. He thus opened a royal path for a generation of gifted American pilots. Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz and a few others would continue to write this story of which Pat Hennen was the first hero. With thirty years of hindsight, this work explores each of these periods and sheds different light on each small event that punctuated the race and its side effects.

JEAN-LOUIS BASSET. Author of a number of books on the world of motorcycles, Jean-Louis Basset has delightedly delved into his archives to explore a period marked by the star-spangled banner. It was a time when we met at the newsstand on Thursday morning to find out the report of the weekend's Grand Prix.

CHRISTIAN SARRON is the French driver with the most beautiful calling card in Grand Prix until Johann Zarco. 250 cc world champion in 3, this sportsman with an exceptional career is also one of the rare drivers to have rubbed shoulders with all these American drivers. Renowned for his attack and the incredible energy he devoted to the race, Christian Sarron commanded the admiration of his peers and the public.
