The fifth round of the FIM World Championship JuniorGP™ arrives in Jerez, Andalusia, where the stakes are high, the tarmac is hot and every driver is ready to shine.

The FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship heads to the legendary Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto for the fifth round of the season, a crucial moment as we enter the final three rounds. The Spanish classic, home to many memorable moments in motorcycle racing history, will host a packed programme including two JuniorGP™ races, a Moto2™ ECh race, two European Talent Cup races and a Stock ECh race.

In the category JuniorGP™, the current leader Alvaro Carpe (STV Laglisse Racing) aim to consolidate their victory in the Algarve, but with just two points ahead of their rivals Jesus Rios (MRE Talent) and Marcos Uriarte (CFMoto Aspar Junior Team), the pressure is on. Carpe's two-point lead is the result of great consistency, as he failed to score any points in Race 2 at Misano, and he has taken two wins on his way to the top. He has also just won the Rookies title at Misano. The Andalusian Jesus Rios, for his part, is the most successful driver on the starting grid (three), but his lack of consistency allows him to arrive at Jerez in second position. Marcos Uriarte, meanwhile, has accumulated four podiums since the start of the season, with a best position of P2, and will therefore undoubtedly aim for the top step to claim his first home victory.

Jesus Rios et Marcos Uriarte, both tied with 88 points, will try to gain ground, or even take the lead in the championship. Adrian Cruces (Finetwork Team), 4th, and Alessandro Morosi (CFMoto Aspar Junior Team), 5th, are within striking distance, looking to take advantage of a possible misstep by the leaders, as only 14 points separate the top five – everything is up for grabs.

French side, Guillem Planques (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) hopes to regain the points zone that eluded them since Barcelona but the situation seems complicated and their participation does not seem assured.

The European Championship race Moto2™ sees Roberto Garcia (Fantic Cardoso Racing) defend a solid 18-point lead after a perfect weekend in Portimao, taking pole and a one-two finish. The Spanish rider from Seville, just an hour's drive away, will be hoping to continue that momentum at his home round. However, with the Ciatti-Boscoscuro team riders, Mattia Casadei et Alberto Surra, who are following him with 18 and 19 points respectively, the fight for first place is far from won, with 25 points at stake in this single round.

French side, Johann Gimbert (Promotion) and Lorenzo Fellon (SF Racing) are showing great consistency and are both in the Top 15.

En ETC, Marco Morelli (MLav Racing) leads the pack but faces strong competition: Carlos cano (SEVENTYTWO Motorsports Artbox), who claimed his third win of the season in Portimao to close the gap on the Argentinian, is now just four points behind, and Julius Pugliese CFMoto Aspar Junior Team will be keen to close the gap after a consistent series of podiums. David Gonzalez AC Racing's fourth in the standings despite two DNFs has four podiums to his name and is hot on the heels of the Italian. He will also be looking to extend his two-point lead over Valentin Perrone (Frando Racing VHC Team).

On the French side, we are making progress, and the performance in qualifying ofEnzo Bellon (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) in the Algarve generated a lot of hope, but these were quickly dampened by a clutch management problem at the start, forcing the young Reunion Islander, returning from injury, to finish 14th at the end of the first lap. The level in ETC was such that it immediately compromised the race of the driver of theFrench team (With Benjamin Caillet (JEG Take OFF GP) and Mattéo Roman (First Bike Academy)), but his 11th place finish, just 8 seconds off the lead, in his first race after his double ulna-radius fracture, already had us looking forward to the round in Jerez this weekend.

In the championship, however, our best representative for the moment is Benjamin Caillet (JEG Take OFF GP) in front David DaCosta (BRS-Brechon Racing School), while  Remy Sanjuan (Mecaprojets Team Ado) also managed to score points.
